Claudia Wiehler is a researcher on the Negotiation and Mediation Support team, examining the nexus between constitution-making and mediation. She is a practice-oriented researcher with field experience in South Asia, West Africa, and Latin America.
Her previous research has focused on non-state armed groups and ceasefire mediation. Claudia holds a PhD from ETH Zurich and is experienced in using and developing quantitative and qualitative methods, including participatory approaches to social network analysis. Her work was awarded by the American Political Science Association, among others, and published in the Journal for Conflict Resolution and the Journal for International Peacekeeping. Claudia has consulted the European Union and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and is a member of the OSCE Mediation Expert pool.

Claudia Wiehler ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Team für die Unterstützung von Verhandlungen und Mediation. Ihre Arbeit fokusiert sich auf die Schnittstelle von Verfassungsgebung und Mediation. Sie ist eine praxisorientierte Wissenschaftlerin mit Felderfahrung in Südasien, West Afrika und Lateinamerika.
Ihre bisherige Forschung hat sich insbesondere mit nicht-staatlichen bewaffneten Gruppen und der Mediation von Waffenstillstandsabkommen beschäftigt. Claudia hat ihren PhD an der ETH Zürich abgeschlossen und umfangreiche Erfahrung in der Anwendung und Weiterentwicklung von quantitativen und qualitative Methoden einschließlich partitizpativer Netzwerkanalysen. Ihre wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten wurden von der American Political Science Association ausgezeichnet und in internationalen Zeitschriften veröffentlicht. Claudia hat als Beraterin für die Europäische Union und das Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue gearbeitet und ist ein Mitglied des OSZE-Expert Pools für Mediation.
