Miriam Trefzer works as Project Manager as part of the Afghanistan team of Berghof Foundation.
Prior to joining Berghof, she worked with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Jordan, the European Institute of Peace in Belgium, and the Institute for Integrated Transitions in Colombia on topics related to sustainable peace processes as part of the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs. Previously, she had gained professional experience with the Munich Security Conference, the UN International Law Commission, the UNHCR Liaison Office to the OSCE and at the German Embassy in Ecuador.
Miriam holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from TU Dresden and a Master’s degree in International Law from the Graduate Institute Geneva.

Vor ihrer Tätigkeit bei der Berghof Foundation absolvierte sie im Rahmen des Mercator Kollegs für internationale Aufgaben Arbeitsstationen beim UN-Flüchtlingskommissariat (UNHCR) in Jordanien, dem European Institute of Peace in Belgien, und dem Institute for Integrated Transitions in Kolumbien. Zuvor hatte sie bereits bei der Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz, der UN-Völkerrechtskommission, dem UNHCR-Verbindungsbüro zur OSZE sowie bei der Deutschen Botschaft in Ecuador berufliche Erfahrungen gesammelt.
Miriam hat einen B.A. in Internationale Beziehungen von der TU Dresden sowie einen M.A. in International Law vom Graduate Institute Geneva.
