Dr. Mariia Levchenko is an international affairs professional with extensive experience in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. She currently serves as a Project Manager at our Regional Peace Support Department, focusing on initiatives in Ukraine and Ethiopia. With a Ph.D. in International Economics, she brings over a decade of expertise in facilitating dialogue, strategic planning, and community-based protection initiatives.
Recognised with the Luxembourg Peace Prize in 2023 for her contributions to global peace efforts, Mariia has also been honored as a Community Solutions Fellow (2017), a Chevening Scholar (2019-2020), and a McCain Institute Leader (2022). In 2024, she was awarded the Women PeaceMakers Fellowship by Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.
Prior to joining the Berghof Foundation, she has collaborated with a range of international organisations, including the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), and River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding, working across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
