Rachel Gasser is a Senior Adviser at the Berghof Foundation. She is working on peace mediation support in the Negotiation and Mediation Support Department as well as with Women in Resistance and Liberation Movements. She is involved in designing and facilitating dialogue and mediation processes activities as well as supporting negotiations parties.
Rachel has been working on peace and security for the past 15 years both at policy and fields level. Prior to joining the Berghof Foundation, she spent several years accompanying processes including in/on Iraq, Israel/Palestine, Libya, Myanmar, Somalia, Syria and the DPRK. Her main responsibilities have been advising and training parties to conflict, supporting third party mediation both at local and international levels and conducting applied research on issues related to peace and security.
Rachel worked with the UN (UNHCR and UNDPPA), NATO & the Swiss Foreign Ministry as well as with international and local NGOs & think tanks including swisspeace. She has a Master from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.

Rachel Gasser ist Senior Adviser bei der Berghof Foundation. Sie arbeitet an der Unterstützung von Friedensmediationen in der Abteilung Negotiation and Mediation Support sowie mit Frauen in Widerstands- und Befreiungsbewegungen. Sie ist an der Gestaltung und Moderation von Dialog- und Mediationsprozessen beteiligt und unterstützt Verhandlungsparteien.
Rachel ist seit 15 Jahren im Bereich Frieden und Sicherheit tätig, sowohl auf politischer Ebene als auch in der Praxis. Bevor sie zur Berghof Foundation kam, begleitete sie mehrere Jahre lang Prozesse unter anderem im/im Irak, in Israel/Palästina, Libyen, Myanmar, Somalia, Syrien und der DVRK. Ihre Hauptaufgaben waren die Beratung und Ausbildung von Konfliktparteien, die Unterstützung von Vermittlungsbemühungen Dritter auf lokaler und internationaler Ebene sowie die Durchführung von angewandter Forschung zu Fragen im Zusammenhang mit Frieden und Sicherheit.
Rachel arbeitete für die UNO (UNHCR und UNDPPA), die NATO und das Schweizerische Aussenministerium sowie für internationale und lokale NGOs und Think Tanks wie swisspeace. Sie hat einen Master des Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
