Lara Azzam is a Senior Project Manager at the Berghof Foundation’s MENA Unit. She joined the Berghof Foundation in 2015 where she has worked on several dialogue projects, for instance, on addressing violent extremism, inclusive political and social reforms and most recently leading the China-MENA project. She also conducts research on democratisation and popular uprising in Lebanon within the EMBRACE project and previously on pathways to violent extremism within the PAVE project.
She previously worked with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) and AUB’s Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs. Lara has an MA Degree in Middle Eastern Studies from King’s College London, an MA in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies from the University of Leeds and a BA in English Language from the American University of Beirut (AUB).
