Johanna Sassenrath is the Assistant to the Executive Office at Berghof Foundation. Prior to joining Berghof, Johanna worked for Charité, Universitätsmedizin Berlin and interned with several NGOs and NPOs on security politics, human rights and community development in Germany, Uganda, Zambia and South Africa. Her areas of interest include climate security, human rights and transitional justice, specifically in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Johanna graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a B.A. in International Development Studies. She also holds a Master of International Affairs, focusing on Security and Sustainability, from the Hertie School in Berlin and spent an exchange semester at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.

Johanna Sassenrath ist Assistentin der Geschäftsleitung bei der Berghof Foundation. Bevor sie zu Berghof kam, arbeitete Johanna Sassenrath für die Charité, Universitätsmedizin Berlin und absolvierte Praktika bei verschiedenen NGOs und NPOs zu den Themen Sicherheitspolitik, Menschenrechte und Gemeindeentwicklung in Deutschland, Uganda, Sambia und Südafrika.
