Tom Breese joined the Berghof Foundation in July 2021 and currently works as a Project Manager in the MENA unit. Until April 2026, he worked on multi-track dialogue support initiatives in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. Previously, his work focused on the nexus between peacemaking and constitution-building, as well as on climate change and environmental issues, contributing to the publications The Burning Question and Climate, Peace and Conflict: Mapping linkages and a path forward.

Tom completed his Bachelor’s degree in Classics at Durham University in the UK, before moving to Berlin to undertake a Master's degree in Public Policy at the Hertie School of Governance. His research focused on the environment and security, completing a thesis on the effect of natural disasters on peace processes in Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
