Dr. Antje Herrberg is based in Niger and currently conducts research on local attitudes on conflict resolution and national dialogue, as a research associate. She is a senior advisor and seasoned expert in peace mediation and crisis response, with over 25 years of leadership experience in conflict resolution across diverse regions, including the Black Sea, Southeast Asia, the Great Lakes, and the Sahel. She has served as a senior advisor, chief of staff, CEO and professor, directing high-level peace initiatives for institutions like the European External Action Service, United Nations, and EU missions and non-governmental organisation like the Crisis Management Initiative, Interpeace and mediatEUr. Renowned for her innovative and inclusive approach to conflict prevention and post-conflict mediation, Antje has pioneered strategic frameworks and facilitated high-impact dialogues in complex environments, from Aceh follow up Peace Process, regional peacebuilding in the Caucasus and Ukraine, stabilization efforts in Eastern DRC to civilian counter-terrorism initiatives in the Sahel. Fluent in German, English, and French, she combines her academic expertise with practical field experience to advance sustainable peace and security worldwide.
