Suzanne van Hooff joined Berghof Foundation’s Ethiopia Unit as a Senior Project Manager in January 2025. She previously worked with Conciliation Resources, where she headed the Horn of Africa Programme. In this capacity, she provided peacebuilding and peace mediation support in the Somali region of Ethiopia, following the peace agreement between the Government of Ethiopia and the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF), and was closely involved in supporting the establishment and operationalisation of the Somali regional Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Prior to this, she supported peace mediation and political dialogue processes in Sudan, Somalia, and Kenya working with the Inclusive Peace and Transition Initiative in Geneva and Conflict Dynamics International in Nairobi.

Suzanne holds an MA in Contemporary History, an MSc in Political Science, and an LL.M. in International Public Law from the University of Amsterdam.
