Jana Sleem is Project Coordinator at the Berghof Foundation, where she supports research and rigorous impact evaluation efforts focused on peacebuilding, conflict transformation, trust-building, and locally led dialogue in Lebanon.
She brings practical experience across local, national, and regional levels in the MENA region. In her previous 4 years with UNDP, her contributions included the establishment of Insider Mediation Networks in Lebanon, Jordan, and Sudan, and the development of UNDP's fact-checking platform 'Sawab' to counter disinformation and hate speech. She is particularly interested in the role of storytelling—how personal narratives, collective memory, and shared histories can foster healing, resilience, and inclusive dialogue.
With a multidisciplinary background in law, international affairs, and digital media, Jana bridges research and practice to help create strategies and roadmaps for dialogue and social cohesion. Her work aims to elevate local voices while shaping practical, context-driven approaches to peacebuilding—starting in Lebanon and extending across the MENA region.
