Nazanine leads efforts to integrate climate considerations across Berghof's conflict transformation and peacebuilding work, including dialogue and mediation initiatives at national and regional levels. Before joining the Berghof Foundation, Nazanine was a senior climate, environment and conflict analyst at the International Crisis Group. She led on led on research and reporting as well as media contributions on how to best respond to climate-environment related risks in conflict zones. Nazanine worked for two decades as a journalist, including roles at Reuters, Independent Television News and Al Jazeera English. She also served as an expert on the United Nations Panel of Experts on Somalia.
