With the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation (FES) in Afghanistan, we offer a four-month online programme for 30 next-generation Afghan young leaders.

Timeframe: 2020 - 2021

As part of the Young Leaders Forum (YLF) of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation (FES) in Afghanistan, the Berghof Foundation will offer a four-month online programme, Mediation and Conflict Resolution Course, for 30 next-generation Afghan young leaders. Since 2004, more than 300 outstanding Afghan men and women from all walks of life have participated in the YLF program. Many of the alumni are highly successful young professionals, working in government, in diplomacy, and for non-profit organisations, implementing change across a variety of sectors.

The online Mediation and Conflict Resolution Course broadly introduces participants to the various conflict resolution processes, and more specifically focuses on mediation and negotiation, including basics of dialogue and communication skills. This course will be comprised of lectures, group exercises, simulations, multi-media components with accompanying assignments, peer exchanges and reflections, concluding with a fireside chat with our Berghof Afghan Team.
