Rebuilding the bond
Entry points for cooperation between Aden and Abyan
Aden and Abyan in southern Yemen share deep economic, social and infrastructure ties, yet conflict and fragmented governance have weakened cooperation between them. This report examines these interdependencies and identifies practical opportunities to strengthen coordination and mediation. Drawing on local interviews and expert consultations, it explores how shared water resources, infrastructure and existing community mediation networks can help rebuild trust and support cooperation between the two governorates.
