Join our event on 3 June to learn more about the role of mediators, donors, location and space in shaping peace processes.
Peace processes diverge a lot from one case to another. Some are considered inclusive, making sure that all actors relevant to the conflict have a seat at the negotiation table, while others take place without the involvement of the main conflict parties.
In recent years, new mediation actors have also emerged, contributing to further reshaping the mediation landscape and increasing their efforts to support conflict resolution.
Peace talks vary widely, so how are they shaped and who decides on important aspects such as participation, agenda-setting, location and space design? How do these elements impact the discussions and outcomes? And how do donors and invested parties potentially shape these outcomes?
This event focuses on the evolving dynamics of peace processes, diving deeper into the role of mediators, inclusivity, location and space design and decision-making processes. It also aims to build on the results of The Berlin Moot that focused on the necessity to develop an innovative approach to mediation and to factor in emerging mediation actors.
