In her book, Katarina Månsson examines the relationship between human rights and mediation by analysing past and present mediation processes, from the early beginnings of United Nation's mediation efforts to recent examples like the peace process in Colombia.
Despite both human rights and mediation being vital for settling conflicts peacefully, the role of human rights in mediation processes still is a largely unexplored topic. Månsson's analysis aims to bring human rights and mediation practitioners closer together and to strengthen human rights considerations in mediation.
