Nail is working as a Student Assistant in the Somalia Team of the Sub-Saharan Africa Unit. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and North American Studies from the Free University of Berlin. He also did an exchange semester at the Columbia University in New York, concentrating on human rights and economics.
Before joining the Berghof Foundation, he interned in the Financial Cooperation Unit at the Federal Ministry of Germany for Economic Cooperation and Development, conducted research on Turkish diplomatic missions abroad at the Institute for Diplomacy and Economics in Brussels, worked as a Working Student at the KfW Development Bank, and finally fulfilled an internship at the Heinrich Boell Foundation in Washington, D.C., where he completed his own capstone project on the EU's role in post-Assad democratisation in Syria.
Nail is currently pursuing a Master's degree in International Relations in the cooperation program by the Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin, and University of Potsdam.

Nail arbeitet als studentischer Mitarbeiter im Somalia-Team der Abteilung Subsahara-Afrika. Er hat einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Politikwissenschaft und Nordamerikastudien von der Freien Universität Berlin. Außerdem absolvierte er ein Austauschsemester an der Columbia University in New York, wobei er sich auf Menschenrechte und Wirtschaftswissenschaften konzentrierte.
Bevor er zur Berghof-Stiftung kam, absolvierte er ein Praktikum im Referat für finanzielle Zusammenarbeit im Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung, forschte am Institute for Diplomacy and Economics in Brüssel zu türkischen diplomatischen Vertretungen im Ausland, arbeitete als Werkstudent bei der KfW-Entwicklungsbank und absolvierte schließlich ein Praktikum bei der Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung in Washington, D.C., wo er sein eigenes Abschlussprojekt zur Rolle der EU bei der Demokratisierung Syriens nach Assad fertigte.
Derzeit absolviert Nail einen Masterstudiengang in Internationalen Beziehungen im Rahmen des Kooperationsprogramms der Freien Universität Berlin, der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin und der Universität Potsdam.
