Sharif Abukar Ahmed

Sharif Abukar Ahmed joined the Berghof Foundation in December 2020 as Project Manager for the project “Supporting Community Peacebuilders and Government Officials to Promote Reconciliation in Hirshabelle State, Somalia”. Prior to this, he worked as an advisor at the Office of the Deputy President of Hirshabelle State, Somalia and worked with both the Max Planck Foundation and the Berghof Foundation on multiple projects as a consultant.
Sharif holds extensive experience in institutional capacity building and community-led development in Hirshabelle State. He has been intimately involved in promoting local peace building initiatives with the Berghof Foundation, particularly in Hirshabelle and Galmudug States since it started its operation in Somalia in 2015. Sharif holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Savannah University.
