Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu has been a member of the Berghof Board since 2012. He has an undergraduate degree and PH.D from the London School of Economics (LSE), University of London in International Relations and is the founding and current Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Alternatives in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the leading research and advocacy public policy institute in the country on issues of governance and conflict transformation. He has been nominated for many peace awards and in 2011, was the winner of the inaugural Citizens Peace Award made by the National Peace Council of Sri Lanka. In 2016 he was the Secretary of the National Consultative Task Force appointed by the Government of Sri Lanka to ascertain public views on Transitional Justice and Reconciliation. He is a co-founder of the Sri Lanka Chapter of Transparency International and of the Centre for Monitoring Election Violence in Sri Lanka.
